Tuxton Earns NSF Certification for Tuxton Pro Cookware Collections
Independent certification demonstrates compliance with the widely accepted NSF sanitation standards for commercial food equipment, components, and materials
(Walnut) January 2023 – Tuxton has earned certification to NSF/ANSI Std. 2 NSF Sanitation Certification of Pots and Pans for Tuxton Pro Cookware from NSF, a global public health and safety organization.
From the same family owned and operated company that has brought you 20+ years of hospitality manufacturing experience, a fully integrated supply chain, and nationally acclaimed customer service, Tuxton is going back of house with its fully-stocked Tuxton Pro Cookware offering available in three materials:
-
TUXWARE, a heavy duty everyday performance aluminum,
-
TUXSTEEL, a high quality induction-ready stainless, and
-
TUXCLAD, a triple-layered, induction ready premium multiclad.
Tuxton Pro Cookware is spearheaded by President Steve Abourisk. Steve’s relationship with Tuxton dates back to 2013, when he joined the company as a manufacturer representative with over 20 years of experience in the foodservice industry. In 2015, Steve led Tuxton to new heights as the VP of Hospitality and later as VP of Sales.
Tuxton founder and CEO, Gavin Lam, said “We always look at how Tuxton can best fulfill the needs of our customers and with our strength in service and supply chain control, we saw that we could help fill a void that was left by the inventory struggles of the pandemic. We look forward to Steve bringing his many years of hospitality experience and leadership to showcasing Tuxton’s capabilities in cookware.”
NSF standards serve as the benchmarks by which all commercial foodservice equipment products are measured. Certification shows customers, specifiers, and public health authorities that these products have been reviewed, tested (where applicable), and certified by an independent third-party organization to the industry’s leading standards and that they meet all applicable North American regulatory sanitation requirements.
To earn certification to NSF/ANSI Std. 2 NSF Sanitation Certification of Pots and Pans, Tuxton Pro Cookware was subject to a review, an evaluation, and, where applicable, a testing process to verify the product’s compliance as stated in the applicable NSF standard. Certification by NSF also included an audit at Tuxton’s manufacturing facility to verify compliance.
NSF food equipment standards include requirements for food contact material safety to ensure the product will not leach harmful chemicals into food; design and construction, to ensure the product is easily cleanable and is not likely to harbor bacteria; and, where applicable, product performance.
Tuxton’s Tuxton Pro Cookware (as well as related marketing materials) can now bear the NSF/ANSI certification mark and is listed in the online database of NSF-certified products.
“The NSF/ANSI certification mark is known around the world as a symbol of food safety,” said AJ McCardell, Senior Managing Director of Product Certification, Global Food Division, NSF. “By achieving this independent certification, Tuxton is able to further demonstrate the food safety of its product and its compliance with public health requirements.”
